  • Our timber grading explanation

  • Our timber meets manufacturers standards:

GOST 8486-86 Softwood lumber.

GOST 2695-83 Hardwood lumber.

  • By the quality of wood, hardwood lumber is divided into three grades (1, 2, 3). The division is made depending on the presence and number of knots, cracks, inclination of fibers, curliness, sprouting, internal sapwood, mushroom heart spots and stripes, browning, mold, mushroom sap stains, etc.

  • According to the quality of wood, coniferous lumber is divided into five varieties (0, 1, 2, 3, 4). The division is carried out similarly to deciduous, depending on the presence of knots, cracks, defects in the structure of wood, fungal and biological damage, warping. In practice, valuable species of lumber intended for furniture production and cabinetry have more stringent quality requirements.

The following varieties are used

  • Grade 1: one knot with a diameter of 20 mm per board is allowed.

  • Grade 0-1: mixed grades, grade 0 – 80% and grade 1 – 20%.
